Caribou Coffee - Amy's Blend
Every October, (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), Caribou brings back Amy’s Blend in honor of their roastmaster, Amy Erickson, who lost her battle with cancer. This year, we wanted to do something bigger. Inspired by Amy’s favorite flower, a pink tulip, which adorns Amy’s Blend packaging each year, we created Amy’s Gardens. People could dedicate a tulip to a loved on in-store or online. For every tulip dedicated, we planted a real one in Amy’s Gardens.
We held a large planting and dedication event in October, and in the spring, thousands of bright pink tulips bloomed hope at Shedd Aquarium and at MOA—just in time for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
And since a portion of Amy's Blend proceeds go toward cancer research, we also created packaging that let you peel back the label and write the name of a friend or family member in order to dedicate the bag to them. It was a small way of showing our support for an entire community of women--not just that Amys, but the Maggies, the Katies and every woman incredibly woman we know that's affected by breast cancer.
